I was born in the city of Simferopol which is located at the south-central portion of the Crimean Peninsula which is part of Ukraine although, Russia claims that Crimea is theirs. Living in a warm climate along the Back Sea, outdoors was the place to be. Our family lifestyle, as was the case for most other Crimean families, was a healthy one where meals were based on locally grown protein accompanied by a large variety of local fruits and vegetables. When I wasn't studying I was working inside our home or outside in the gardens. I liked being physically involved (as I still do today) because physical work made me strong, kept me looking fit and I felt rewarded when I finished a task. Having a Grandfather who was the coach of the Ukrainian Olympic Weightlifting Team most probably had the greatest impact on me. He made me understand the importance of discipline and he was also the person that made me fall in loved with exercise, especially after I saw the affect it had on the female body. My grandfather took me to many competitions where I watched both male and female athletes perform. As a result, images of bodybuilders and gymnasts with their strong and sculpted bodies stuck in my head.
Time went by and my mother and I relocated to Canada, Toronto more specifically when I was in my mid teens. It was tough. We needed to master a new language and adapt to a new way of life. Seven years later we moved to Montreal where I continued my University education and not too long thereafter, met and married my husband. I continued to exercise and eat healthy and was able to keep my body strong, healthy and in shape. Time passed and we were blessed with our son Nicolas and as a result real family life began. I tried to make my Ukrainian customs and values part of our family's lifestyle but the Canadian way of life made it impossible. One day, now in my early 30's and after living in Montreal for about 12 years, I happened to look in a mirror and noticed my body had changed.
I had put a bit of weight on and the reflection I saw made me decide it was time to get my weight down and my body back in shape. I just didn't jump on the first popular diet I came across, I got serious about nutrition and dieting and took courses and studied as much as I could on those two subjects. After dieting a bit and seeing results I suddenly remembered all the female bodybuilders I had seen with my grandfather and how great they looked and thought it was time to give it a try. I always wanted a lean, well toned curvy body and that's what you get when you train to be a bodybuilder.
Through Trial & Error and eventually with a lot of professional guidance, I had built more muscle and had leaned out so I was ready for my first swim suit competition. Preparing for that competition was, to say the least, grueling and a lot of extremely hard work. It was tough to make the endless sacrifices which affected family, food and friends as most diets do when they're too severe but I did it! I reached my goal and walked out on stage and won my first medal.
Time passed and I eventually retired from competing but I found myself having to diet every now and then. Because I was dieting again and because of my previous competition dieting experiences I knew what I had to do and what life was going to be like if I followed a severe diet. I didn't want to suffer again so I was bound and determined to find a better way. Reading university literature and articles on the web made me much more knowledgeable and I began creating my versions of diets. I got real good at it and got fantastic results without depriving myself and I was able to socialize and maintain a normal lifestyle. Seeing my success many of my friends were asking me what my secret was but before I said anything, I realized I needed even more formal education to enrich my knowledge on exercise, nutrition and the effect of the two on the female body. When I finished my studies I started helping friends in the gym and talking about food and how it's really the body's fuel source needed so it can perform properly and also explaining how to exercise with the proper intensity and using the right form so they would maximize their workouts.
Realizing that so many people needed guidance on eating, dieting and exercise but also realizing that most were afraid to ask for help for fear of being judged, I decided it was time to open IrinaFitFoodie, a business dedicated to Women over 35 who want to lose fat, build up some strength, tone up and get their confidence back. IrinaFitFoodie now has a well equipped gym where clients train only with me in total privacy, safely and without being judged. It's hard work for everyone and the focus is always on the client reaching their goal but, everybody as some fun too. I am very passionate about exercise and my clients overall health. As a result, I always make their experience "Life-changing".
My studio is in no way the same as a public gym. No one else is in the gym with you during your session except me. No waiting for equipment and your exercise routine for the current session will all be planned out and prepared in advance based on your abilities and your goals which we initially established in the consultation session. There's a lot of intensity in my workouts and there definitely won't be a reason to get board. There's no wasting time so you can get a typical 1 1/2 hour gym workout done in 30 minutes. Safety is key, you'll be taught how to use equipment, supervised and coached throughout your whole training session which will prevent injuries from happening and maximize the workout.
All that said, there's always time to discuss current events and other topics that may not even relate to fitness but the important thing is to get answers to your questions on what's right for your body as it relates to exercise, nutrition and your overall health.
At IrinaFitFoodie new equipment and exercises get added constantly giving you new things to learn about and try.
Diet plays a huge part in almost everyone's fitness plan and you can get personalized meal plans tailored to your food preferences as well as nutritional advice from me. I use an application together with my knowledge from years of study and experience to make those meal plans and I change them up regularly so things aren't always the same but especially to prevent your body from getting used to the nutrient composition of your new diet and and go back to it's old habits of misusing those nutrients and converting them to fat and then storing it for future use.
My goal over time is to teach you how, when and what to eat without starving or depriving yourself so when you've reached your goal with me you will, from developing good habits, continue to control your calories and not land up on the path of having to Yo-yo diet to keep in shape.
Embark on one of my customized exercise and meal programs for at least 3 months and you "Will" lose 8-10 lbs. per month of fat not water as well as get rid of several inches in all of those stubborn places.
I am a professional at sculpting the female body. I use a combination of diet and especially exercise to do those special things like grow your booty, tone-up, shrink your waste, hips and thighs and, as an added bonus, if you follow this plan it will improve you skin and give it a healthy glow.
